Frontend redesign history evidence

Read-only audit of pinned commits in /home/kirbysmashyeet/.treehouse/BloxClips-frontend-207dad/5/BloxClips-frontend.

Pins: base 3e376417, main ad33ecb4, dev 7c3f0079. The full 104-commit dev manifest, each commit's parents/subject/date/first-parent patch ID, all path unions, and the per-commit path status data for main are in redesign-history.json.

Main: six commits after base

CommitChanged pathsEvidence and semantics
27bb998 — Update services page and Calendly link3Reworked app/services/page.tsx into a UGC vs. clipping comparison; tightened service metadata; changed the /book-call Calendly target to BloxClips onboarding. The former explicit long-form midroll offering disappears.
f6937f9 — Sync navbar and case studies to live4Added Kill Streak case study claims (10M+ views/10 days, 1,000+ submissions, 3,000+ creators); removed the Discord nav link and ClipsRev footer referral; added an X icon.
e192ec0 — Replace the marketing site and move it onto the live routes152Large route-group migration: 95 added, 30 deleted, 25 modified, 2 renamed. Adds app/(site) pages/shared components and new marketing content/assets; moves campaign/guide data to app/lib; replaces old marketing UI and deletes its live clipper-count API route. Changes root metadata/layout, indexing, global styles, and adds SmoothScroll/Reveal. Product dashboard edits are mainly terminology changes from “clipper” to “creator,” with no payout-rule change seen in the audited patch. It also removes the root force-dynamic export.
f7f132a — Add the redesign notes and the handoff doc26Documentation-only: teardown, design system, audit, brief/build plan, concept feedback, SEO/GEO, sales and creator funnels, and handoff/research notes.
6f2dda0 — Launch site redesign15Final launch tuning; adds Careers; turns /contact into the 15-minute Calendly booking destination; deletes the just-added app/(site)/book-call/page.tsx; removes the /book-call sitemap entry. Also removes FAQ/case-card content from /clipping and hides non-featured case-study chips.
ad33ecb — Update site embed metadata5Aligns title/description/social/schema text around “Creator Distribution for Games” and points previews to the new public/bloxclips-embed.png.

Transient route: app/(site)/book-call/page.tsx exists only between e192ec0 and 6f2dda0. At main HEAD, /book-call has no alias or redirect: the app/(site)/[...rest]/page.tsx catch-all calls notFound(). The contact page now serves the booking flow. Older concept routes are also deliberately absent and fall through to this 404.

The touched-path counts reconcile as follows: 185 names across the six main commits when rename endpoints and the transient route are counted; the base-to-main diff has 182 name-status entries because two data moves are represented as renames; expanding those renames gives 184 net names.

Behavior differences from dev

  • AudienceTheme now defaults to brands rather than dev's clippers; main accepts audience query values, persists the selection in localStorage, maps legacy clippers to creators, then removes the query parameter.
  • CookieConsent keeps the v2 storage key, version, decision logic and event names. Its presentation changes from dev's full-width bar to a fixed corner dialog, with a light palette only on the creator homepage. It hides on /contact instead of /book-call; main has repurposed /contact as the booking page, while dev still shows a compact consent panel on /contact.
  • Main CSS sets global html color-scheme: dark but does not add a light color-scheme override for dashboard selects. Dev has explicit dark and light select rules; its source comment says Chrome uses these for the native options popup. Main can therefore show dark dropdown menus inside the light dashboard.
  • Dev Telemetry wraps Vercel Analytics/SpeedInsights with beforeSend filters for /share/report/ URLs because those paths carry report bearer tokens. Main renders the products directly. Main itself has no report route, but replacing dev's root with the main version without preserving the filter would expose token-bearing URLs to browser telemetry.
  • Dev mounts ToastViewport globally; main does not. Main has no react-hot-toast consumer, so this is a dev integration risk rather than a confirmed main-only notification loss.
  • Main also adds a Geist font-variable fix on html, Lenis scroll overrides, the creator-home light surface, motion/reveal/accordion CSS and reduced-motion rules. Dev has additional shared toast/review CSS and dev-only sandbox-badge/dashboard-artwork styles; their components are absent from main.

Regression candidates

  • Confirmed from route source: legacy /book-call URLs now return the site 404 instead of redirecting to /contact.
  • Confirmed dashboard styling behavior: the new global dark color-scheme can leave native dropdown menus dark in the light dashboard because main has no per-dashboard light select override.
  • Privacy risk when replacing dev's root layout: main's direct Vercel Analytics/SpeedInsights lack dev's /share/report/ bearer-path filter.
  • Deployment risk, not a reproduced failure: e192ec0 removes dynamic = "force-dynamic" from root layout, while a prior dev commit 962daba is explicitly titled “fix(vercel): force dynamic app routes for deployment.” Verify this against the deployed build/authenticated routes.
  • Intentional internal cleanup: the old /api/live/clipper-count route is removed with its marketing consumers. The redesign build plan says it always returned fallback data because WHOP_API_KEY was unavailable. External consumers are unknown, so compatibility impact outside this repository remains unverified.
  • Content/SEO candidate: the launch removes the /clipping FAQ, its FAQ schema, and case-card section.
  • Positioning candidate: the Sep 6 services rewrite removes the explicit long-form midroll service row. The later redesign may intentionally narrow the offer.

Dev evolution and topology

The JSON enumerates all 104 commits, including side-branch commits. The range has 72 first-parent commits, 20 merges, and 84 non-merges; 32 reachable commits are outside the first-parent chain. Evolution runs from app-layer relocation and PV tracker/design-system work (Aug 26–29), through campaign/support/auth/admin and creator workflows (Aug 30–Sep 5), into creator analytics, Whop payouts/invoices/review controls and staff permissions (Sep 10–15), then campaign funding/budget surfaces, CI/test discovery, payout-flow cleanup and Docker packaging (Sep 17–19).

git cherry -v dev main reports all six main commits as +; none has a patch-equivalent dev commit. git cherry -v main dev reports 84 unique non-merge dev patches. Patch-ID analysis found 12 duplicate groups, each a feature commit paired with a merge commit whose first-parent diff carries the same patch. One merge has an empty first-parent delta. These matches are consistent with normal merges; they are not evidence of rewritten history. No rewrite was inferred.

Read-only only: no edits in the repository, builds, or runtime checks. Commit messages claim a production build and route/SEO checks for the redesign; those claims were not independently rerun here.
